Coole Cody Triumphs In Paddy Power Gold Cup

The Evan Williams trained Coole Cody produced a career best when making virtually all of the running in the feature Grade 3 Paddy Power Gold Cup Handicap Chase at Cheltenham on Saturday.

The son of Dubai Destination soon opened up a clear lead under Tom O’Brien that he wouldn’t relinquish. He had to battle hard after two out and saw off several challengers up the run in to win in tenacious fashion. He will now have the option of returning to Cheltenham in December for the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup.

He was purchased by Tom Malone for £5,200 from Sundale Farm at the 2016 Ascot July Sale on behalf of Owner Wayne Clifford.
