Demand set to be strong at Ascot March Sale
The upcoming Tattersalls Ascot March sale has in two
years quickly established a reputation for selling quality form horses, which
has resulted in strong trade in the ring and graduates excelling on the track
for their new connections.
Fifty one graduates of last year’s sale have already won or been placed including last Saturday’s impressive bumper winner Redbridge Gold for trainer Jamie Snowden. The daughter of Gold Well was purchased for £30,000 at last year’s March Sale by Tom Malone from Michael Murphy’s Redbridge Stables after winning her Maiden point-to-point at Lingstown.
Got Trumped is another fine example of the quality to be found in the Ascot March Sale having been purchased purchased by Kate Harrington last year for £27,000 won on his second start over hurdles at Punchestown and has been subsequently been placed in Grade 2 company.
Last year’s sale saw a turnover
of £978,300 and an average of £9,783 with strong demand for Flat & National
Hunt Form Horses and Point to Pointers.
The select session of Point to Pointers and Form Horses produced a solid set of returns. A total of 19 select entries were catalogued with 15 selling for an aggregate of £502,000 with an average of £33,466 with a top price of £70,000.
Entries are now being accepted for this year’s March Sale which will again feature a select session of Form Horses and Point to Pointers and closes on 25th February.
