Exciting Tattersalls Ascot Yearling Sale Catalogue Online
The catalogue for this year’s Tattersalls Ascot Yearling Sale, which takes place at Park Paddocks, Newmarket on Tuesday 8th September is now online and can be viewed on the Tattersalls Ascot website. This year’s renewal features 257 quality yearlings, all of which are eligible for the £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes.
The Ascot Yearling Sale has quickly established a reputation as a source of top class juvenile talent that are producing results on the track for connections. Since 2019 purchasers have sourced 32 individual two-year-old winners at an average of price £12,500, with 9 black type winners to date.
Top class graduates this season include the impressive Group 3 Molecomb Stakes winner STEEL BULL purchased for £15,000 from Rathasker Stud and MISS AMULET the Listed Marwell Stakes winner purchased for £7,500 from Rockview Stables. Other graduates of note include LIBERTY BEACH, SHADN, SUMMER SANDS and URBAN ICON.
The 2020 edition looks set to deliver more success and this year’s sale has catalogued 96 siblings to two-year-old winners and 69 yearlings out of mares who won at two years of age. There are 20 siblings to black type performers including star Ascot Yearling Sale graduates MISS AMULET and FLAMING PRINCESS.
A number of leading consignors are supporting this year’s sale with the largest consignments coming from Ballyhane, Culworth Grounds, Houghton Bloodstock, Grangemore Stud, Mickley Stud, Norris Bloodstock, Rathbarry Stud, Tally-Ho Stud, Trickledown Stud, Voute Sales, WH Bloodstock, Whitsbury Manor and Whatton Manor Stud.
Sire Power
The sire index makes for impressive reading with the current leading second crop sire NIGHT OF THUNDER responsible for 3 offerings in the sale along with SHOWCASING who similarly has 3 yearlings catalogued. Other leading sires represented include offspring by ACCLAMATION, DANDY MAN, DUE DILIGENCE, HOLY ROMAN EMPEROR, IFFRAAJ and ZOFFANY.
Eleven of the twelve current leading first season sires are represented including a colt by Europe's leading first season sire by earnings, GOKEN and the only offering by the sire catalogued in any select UK yearling sale. Also included are progeny by ADAAY, BELARDO, COULSTY, ESTIDHKAAR, and MEHMAS.
Those looking for first crop yearling sires will find eleven freshmen represented including ACLAIM, ARDAD, COTAI GLORY, EL KABEIR, POSTPONED, PROFITABLE, RIBCHESTER and ULYSSES.
