Success across the weekend for Tattersalls Ireland graduates
It was another successful weekend for Tattersalls Ireland graduates with twenty-four winners at all levels across Ireland and Great Britain. On Saturday, Derby Sale graduate King's Walk got the ball rolling, taking the Handicap Hurdle at Kempton in the colours of Cue Card's owner Mrs Jean Bishop for Colin Tizzard. The feature event of the Kempton meeting, the Grade 2 Dovecote Novices' Hurdle went the way of Cheltenham graduate Global Citizen (below) who impressed connections with an extended nine length win for trainer Ben Pauling and owners The Megsons. Master Dee, another Cheltenham graduate was the winner of the Grade 3 Handicap Chase for Fergal O'Brien and Paul and Clare Rooney while Danny Kirwan, unbeaten, won the Bumper for owner Johnny de la Hey and Paul Nicholls. At Chepstow, Derby Sale graduate Rolling Dylan took the Novices' Chase for Philip Hobbs; August NH Sale and Ascot Sale graduate Carnspindle won the Handicap Hurdle for Warren Greatrex; and the Bumper went the way of Dan Skelton with Cheltenham graduate Supremely Lucky. At Fairyhouse, Out Of The Loop, a November graduate, provide Padraig Roche with his first training success winning the Handicap Hurdle for JP McManus; Bellshill (below) returned to winning ways, landing the Grade 3 Bobbyjo Chase for Willie Mullins, Graham and Andrea Wylie and jockey David Mullins; Derby Sale graduate Sizing Coal took the Hunters Chase in the colours of Alan and Ann Potts Limited for Jim Dreaper; and Sometime Soon, a Derby and Cheltenham Sale graduate won the Bumper for Gigginstown House Stud and Gordon Elliott. At Newcastle, August graduate Baywing (below) finished strongly to win the Eider Chase for Nicky Richards and David and Nicky Robinson; and Cheltenham graduate Planet Nine concluded Saturday's winning feast with victory in the Novices' Hurdle for Rose Dobbin and Mr & Mrs Duncan Davidson. On Sunday, success at Fontwell came from August and November graduate The Last But One winning the Handicap Chase for Paul Nicholls and the Jockey Club Ownership Limited; November graduate Jersey Bean won the Novices' Hurdle for Oliver Sherwood and A Taylor; and Quiz Master, in the colours of Native River's owners Brocade Racing, won the Handicap Hurdle for Colin Tizzard. The Naas card saw Derby Sale graduate Fitzhenry take the Novices' Handicap Chase for Paul Nolan and Barry Geraghty; Gordon Elliott and Gigginstown House Stud's Hardline (below) followed up on his recent Listed win with victory in the Grade 2Novice Hurdle; Doctor Phoenix, a November and Cheltenham graduate, won the Grade 3 Chase for Gordon Elliott and Nick Bradley Racing Club; Dinnie's Vinnie, purchased at the November NH Sale, won the Handicap Chase for father and son duo Philip and Luke Dempsey; and Carefully Selected, an August and Cheltenham graduate won the Bumper for Willie and Paddy Mullins in the colours of Miss MA Masterson. At Southwell, wins for Tattersalls Ireland came from November graduate Normandy King in the Novices' Handicap Chase for Tim Vaughan and The 600 Club; Houndscourt, a November and Ascot graduate, winning the Handicap Hurdle for Joanne Foster and The Berry Syndicate; and Katahdin, bought at the November NH Sale, won the Bumper for Lydia Pearce and Jay Three Racing. |
